Originally an English teacher of French and Italian, she was introduced to wine at home from an early age: her wine-loving father would occasionally bring Tokaji Aszú to the family table. Nevertheless, it was relatively late in life that she began to take wine seriously. Today, she devotes her professional life entirely to wine.
She earned the WSET Diploma in Wines, and in 2026 became a Master of Wine. As a wine professional, she judges at competitions, translates specialist texts, writes articles and runs her own wine website. With her extensive knowledge of the Italian language and culture, Italian wine is one of her main areas of expertise, and she also holds the Vinitaly Italian Wine Expert qualification.
She first visited Hungary in 1997 and, after a brief period elsewhere, eventually settled here. While she believes that as a professional, one should always remain open-minded, she has a particular fondness for Kadarka, Kékfrankos, Furmint, Olaszrizling and several old Hungarian grape varieties. Among Hungary’s wine regions, Szekszárd, Somló and Badacsony are especially close to her heart.
With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, she has brought her expertise to Winelovers Wine College since 2020. Her strengths include enthusiasm and adaptability – the latter particularly important to her, as she believes that teaching methods should always be tailored to the needs of the particular group.
