Csaba Harmath

Csaba Harmath is one of the longest-standing members of the Winelovers Wine College team.

His journey into gastronomy was adventurous, to say the least. Although he developed a love of wine and cooking at a very young age, he chose to pursue a degree at the College of Foreign Trade. He lived in Morocco and later in France, eventually settling in Lyon, where the culinary world opened up to him.

After returning to Hungary, he worked in network development, PR and communications. In time, however, he sought a new challenge and found it in gastronomy. He established his first culinary business in 1996 and went on to explore several areas of the industry. Among other responsibilities, he oversaw supplies for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ ministerial restaurant during Hungary’s EU accession negotiations.

Today, he helps launch restaurants as a consultant. His work has helped shape venues including Terminál in Budapest, and Gusteau and Első Mádi Borház in Mád. He also publishes articles, writes books, reviews manuscripts and teaches.
