Winelovers Wine College

Winelovers Wine College is Hungary’s leading wine school and the country’s first centre within the global network of the London-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). We have been teaching wine for more than three decades: we began offering wine education programmes in the early 1990s, have operated as an established institution since 1996, and have been WSET-accredited since 2005.

Over the years, more than 6,000 students have studied with us – from wine enthusiasts and winemakers to sommeliers and professionals from the hospitality and hotel industries. Our educators are recognised professionals, holders of international wine qualifications, and lecturers pursuing the Master of Wine qualification. We also support our teaching with our own educational materials, including such landmark publications as Borkalauz and Terra Benedicta – Áldott föld.

How do we teach?

Learning at Winelovers Wine College is experiential and practice-oriented. Every theoretical lecture is followed by a guided wine tasting, where participants do more than simply taste: they learn how to observe, interpret and articulate what they experience. Our teaching follows the structured approach to wine tasting and evaluation used by WSET and the Institute of Masters of Wine, based on balance and structure – the language and way of thinking that form the foundation of professional wine education worldwide.

Our courses include multi-day programmes, shorter masterclasses and WSET courses culminating in internationally recognised examinations. The atmosphere is relaxed and class sizes are manageable – questions are not only welcome, but actively encouraged.

Why choose Winelovers Wine College?

  • Because we teach from experience, not from templates.
  • Because the quality of the wines we taste matters to us at least as much as the quantity.
  • Because knowledge is not an end in itself, but a tool for a richer experience.
  • Because we believe wine becomes truly interesting when you begin to understand it.

  • For anyone who wants to feel more confident choosing wine in a shop or restaurant.
  • For anyone who wants to become a better taster – whether simply to enjoy wine more or to approach it with a more professional eye.
  • For anyone curious about wine regions, grape varieties, styles and the connections between them.
  • And for anyone whose work, studies or profession involves wine.

At Winelovers Wine College, we don’t give you ready-made answers. We give you a solid foundation – so you can feel more confident in both your wine-related decisions and your experiences.
